A few of the things the detachment keeps on the calendar — KY. These write-ups are sample stories, in the voice the detachment might use.
| Veteran support | Veterans | MCL Department of Kentucky. Each year the detachment sets aside time for local veterans: a ride, a meal, or a quiet check-in after a hard week — KY. |
| Scholarship evening | Community | Each spring the detachment awards a small scholarship and invites the family to the hall — KY. |
| Honor detail | Veterans | When a local veteran is laid to rest, Department sends an honor detail with the flag and a few members who know the ceremony — KY. |
