Cpl Phil Yin #1439, the Marine Corps League Detachment 1439 — Fountain Hills, AZ. The detachment dates to 1997, when veterans home from Vietnam and the years that followed wanted a room of their own and a way to keep serving after the uniform came off.
People point to the detachment for the Memorial Day observance and for the quieter help that never makes a program — Fountain Hills. The members would rather be useful than famous, which is why the hall still smells like coffee on meeting night.
The meeting line says 1st Tuesday, 6:00 PM, which is the rhythm the directory lists. Come for the business, stay for the people. The portraits and the posts here are sample material, standing in until the detachment writes its own — Fountain Hills, AZ.
