- 1st Tuesday, 7:00 PM
Greater Syracuse #224, the Marine Corps League Detachment 224 — Cicero, NY. The detachment dates to 1951, when veterans home from the Second World War and Korea wanted a room of their own and a way to keep serving after the uniform came off.
The work is ordinary and steady. A flag detail at a funeral. A winter drive that fills a corner of the hall with gifts. A scholarship evening where the members hand an envelope to a student and then go back to the coffee. None of it is loud. All of it is the point of the charter.
The meeting line says 1st Tuesday, 7:00 PM, which is the rhythm the directory lists. Come for the business, stay for the people. The portraits and the posts here are sample material, standing in until the detachment writes its own — Cicero, NY.
