American Legion Post 1260 Highlands Ranch, the American Legion Post 1260 — Hghlnds Ranch, CO. The post dates to 1921, when veterans home from the World Wars wanted a room of their own and a way to keep serving after the uniform came off.
The work is ordinary and steady. A flag detail at a funeral. A winter drive that fills a corner of the hall with gifts. A scholarship evening where the Legionnaires hand an envelope to a student and then go back to the coffee. None of it is loud. All of it is the point of the charter.
The meeting line says the third Wednesday at 6:30 PM, which is the rhythm the directory lists. Come for the business, stay for the people. The portraits and the posts here are sample material, standing in until the post writes its own — Hghlnds Ranch, CO.

Showing up for the winter gift drive — Hghlnds Ranch
By spring the hall had the winter gift drive underway. Nothing about it was complicated. The Post 1260 set a date, split the jobs, and showed up. A few neighbors who are not members came for the afternoon and stayed to ask about the next meeting — Hghlnds Ranch.

What the notebook says so far
Late summer the post looked back at the notebook. This note is a sample of how the post might tell that year — Hghlnds Ranch, CO.
