A few of the things the post keeps on the calendar — Newport, NY. These write-ups are sample stories, in the voice the post might use.
| Veteran support | Veterans | American Legion Post 1524 West Canada Valley. Each year the post sets aside time for local veterans: a ride, a meal, or a quiet check-in after a hard week — Newport, NY. |
| Memorial observance | Veterans | The post leads a short observance each Memorial Day and again near Veterans Day — Newport, NY. |
| Honor detail | Veterans | When a local veteran is laid to rest, Post 1524 sends an honor detail with the flag and a few Legionnaires who know the ceremony — Newport, NY. |
