- Westford, MA
American Legion Post 159 Frederick S Healy, the American Legion Post 159 — Westford, MA. The post dates to 1934, when veterans home from the World Wars wanted a room of their own and a way to keep serving after the uniform came off.
People point to the post for the Memorial Day observance and for the quieter help that never makes a program — Westford. The Legionnaires would rather be useful than famous, which is why the hall still smells like coffee on meeting night.
Meetings are the second Tuesday at 7:00 PM, at the hall — Westford. This page is a sample so neighbors can see the shape of the work. The group itself has not claimed the page, so the stories here are an illustration, written in the voice the post might use.

Showing up for the spring scholarship — Westford
By spring the hall had the spring scholarship underway. Nothing about it was complicated. The Post 159 set a date, split the jobs, and showed up. A few neighbors who are not members came for the afternoon and stayed to ask about the next meeting — Westford.

What the notebook says so far
Late summer the post looked back at the notebook. The honor detail had been out more than once, the community table had fed a crowded room, and the officers reminded everyone that the next business meeting is the second Tuesday at 7:00 PM. This note is a sample of how the post might tell that year — Westford, MA.
