Purpose

Legion Post #335

Saint Louis MO

American Legion Post 335. Its post has met since 1966 — Saint Louis, MO. The charter came in the years after the Second World War and Korea, and the Legionnaires who stayed treated the monthly meeting as a standing promise: show up, look after one another, and leave the town a little better.

The work is ordinary and steady. A flag detail at a funeral. A winter drive that fills a corner of the hall with gifts. A scholarship evening where the Legionnaires hand an envelope to a student and then go back to the coffee. None of it is loud. All of it is the point of the charter.

The regular meeting is the second Tuesday at 7:00 PM. Anyone planning to visit should confirm the night before they come, because a funeral detail or a weather delay can move it. Between meetings the Legionnaires stay in touch the old way: at the hall, and through the officers listed on this sample site — Saint Louis, MO.

    Notes from the first meeting

American Legion Post 335. The year opens the usual way: a short meeting, a full pot of coffee, and a list of local families the post already knows. The Legionnaires voted to keep the Memorial Day wreath on the calendar and to pass the word person to person — Saint Louis, MO.

Showing up for the Memorial Day wreath — Saint Louis

By spring the hall had the Memorial Day wreath underway. Nothing about it was complicated. The Post 335 set a date, split the jobs, and showed up. A few neighbors who are not members came for the afternoon and stayed to ask about the next meeting — Saint Louis.

What the notebook says so far

Late summer the post looked back at the notebook. The honor detail had been out more than once, the community table had fed a crowded room, and the officers reminded everyone that the next business meeting is the second Tuesday at 7:00 PM. This note is a sample of how the post might tell that year — Saint Louis, MO.
