Legion Post #38 — Baton Rouge, LA. Service and a meeting hall — Baton Rouge.
- Legion Post #38
- Baton Rouge, LA
In 1932 a handful of veterans chartered Post 38 — Baton Rouge, LA. From that first meeting the post grew into a hall that still marks the year with a memorial service, a community project, and a table full of people who know one another’s stories.
People point to the post for the Memorial Day observance and for the quieter help that never makes a program — Baton Rouge. The Legionnaires would rather be useful than famous, which is why the hall still smells like coffee on meeting night.
Meetings are the third Wednesday at 6:30 PM, at the hall — Baton Rouge. This page is a sample so neighbors can see the shape of the work. The group itself has not claimed the page, so the stories here are an illustration, written in the voice the post might use.

Showing up for the Memorial Day wreath — Baton Rouge
By spring the hall had the Memorial Day wreath underway. Nothing about it was complicated. The Post 38 set a date, split the jobs, and showed up. A few neighbors who are not members came for the afternoon and stayed to ask about the next meeting — Baton Rouge.

What the notebook says so far
Late summer the post looked back at the notebook. The honor detail had been out more than once, the community table had fed a crowded room, and the officers reminded everyone that the next business meeting is the third Wednesday at 6:30 PM. This note is a sample of how the post might tell that year — Baton Rouge, LA.
