American Legion 468 St Charles, the American Legion Post — Saint Charles, MI. The post dates to 1932, when veterans home from the World Wars wanted a room of their own and a way to keep serving after the uniform came off.
People point to the post for the Memorial Day observance and for the quieter help that never makes a program — Saint Charles. The Legionnaires would rather be useful than famous, which is why the hall still smells like coffee on meeting night.
Meetings are the second Tuesday at 7:00 PM, at the hall — Saint Charles. This page is a sample so neighbors can see the shape of the work. The group itself has not claimed the page, so the stories here are an illustration, written in the voice the post might use.

Showing up for the winter gift drive — Saint Charles
By spring the hall had the winter gift drive underway. Nothing about it was complicated. The Post set a date, split the jobs, and showed up. A few neighbors who are not members came for the afternoon and stayed to ask about the next meeting — Saint Charles.

What the notebook says so far
Late summer the post looked back at the notebook. The honor detail had been out more than once, the community table had fed a crowded room, and the officers reminded everyone that the next business meeting is the second Tuesday at 7:00 PM. This note is a sample of how the post might tell that year — Saint Charles, MI.
