A few of the things the post keeps on the calendar — Marine, IL. These write-ups are sample stories, in the voice the post might use.
| Honor detail | Veterans | When a local veteran is laid to rest, Post 702 sends an honor detail with the flag and a few Legionnaires who know the ceremony — Marine, IL. |
| Veteran support | Veterans | American Legion Post 702. Each year the post sets aside time for local veterans: a ride, a meal, or a quiet check-in after a hard week — Marine, IL. |
| Community table | Community | Once a month the post sets a long table and feeds whoever comes, veterans first and neighbors welcome — Marine, IL. |
