VFW Post 275 Fountain Memorial, the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States Post 275 — Round Mtn, CA. The post dates to 1963, when veterans home from the Second World War and Korea wanted a room of their own and a way to keep serving after the uniform came off.
People point to the post for the Memorial Day observance and for the quieter help that never makes a program — Round Mtn. The comrades would rather be useful than famous, which is why the hall still smells like coffee on meeting night.
Meetings are the third Wednesday at 6:30 PM, at the hall — Round Mtn. This page is a sample so neighbors can see the shape of the work. The group itself has not claimed the page, so the stories here are an illustration, written in the voice the post might use.

By spring the hall had the Memorial Day wreath underway. Nothing about it was complicated. The Post 275 set a date, split the jobs, and showed up. A few neighbors who are not members came for the afternoon and stayed to ask about the next meeting — Round Mtn.

What the notebook says so far
Late summer the post looked back at the notebook. The honor detail had been out more than once, the community table had fed a crowded room, and the officers reminded everyone that the next business meeting is the third Wednesday at 6:30 PM. This note is a sample of how the post might tell that year — Round Mtn, CA.
