| Veteran support | Veterans | VFW Post 3793 Guidry-Herbert. Each year the post sets aside time for local veterans: a ride, a meal, or a quiet check-in after a hard week — Kaplan, LA. |
| Community table | Community | Once a month the post sets a long table and feeds whoever comes, veterans first and neighbors welcome — Kaplan, LA. |
| Honor detail | Veterans | When a local veteran is laid to rest, Post 3793 sends an honor detail with the flag and a few comrades who know the ceremony — Kaplan, LA. |
