VFW Post 6663 Glen Ellyn, the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States Post 6663 — Glen Ellyn, IL. The post dates to 1956, when veterans home from the Second World War and Korea wanted a room of their own and a way to keep serving after the uniform came off.
People point to the post for the Memorial Day observance and for the quieter help that never makes a program — Glen Ellyn. The comrades would rather be useful than famous, which is why the hall still smells like coffee on meeting night.
The regular meeting is the second Tuesday at 7:00 PM. Anyone planning to visit should confirm the night before they come, because a funeral detail or a weather delay can move it. Between meetings the comrades stay in touch the old way: at the hall, and through the officers listed on this sample site — Glen Ellyn, IL.
