- VFW Post #8205
- Parker, FL
In 1957 a handful of veterans chartered Post 8205 — Parker, FL. From that first meeting the post grew into a hall that still marks the year with a memorial service, a community project, and a table full of people who know one another’s stories.
People point to the post for the Memorial Day observance and for the quieter help that never makes a program — Parker. The comrades would rather be useful than famous, which is why the hall still smells like coffee on meeting night.
The regular meeting is the first Thursday at 7:00 PM. Anyone planning to visit should confirm the night before they come, because a funeral detail or a weather delay can move it. Between meetings the comrades stay in touch the old way: at the hall, and through the officers listed on this sample site — Parker, FL.

Showing up for the winter gift drive — Parker
By spring the hall had the winter gift drive underway. Nothing about it was complicated. The Post 8205 set a date, split the jobs, and showed up. A few neighbors who are not members came for the afternoon and stayed to ask about the next meeting — Parker.

What the notebook says so far
Late summer the post looked back at the notebook. The honor detail had been out more than once, the community table had fed a crowded room, and the officers reminded everyone that the next business meeting is the first Thursday at 7:00 PM. This note is a sample of how the post might tell that year — Parker, FL.
