VFW Post 8328. Its post has met since 1938 — Yorktown Hts, NY. The charter came in the years after the World Wars, and the comrades who stayed treated the monthly meeting as a standing promise: show up, look after one another, and leave the town a little better.
People point to the post for the Memorial Day observance and for the quieter help that never makes a program — Yorktown Hts. The comrades would rather be useful than famous, which is why the hall still smells like coffee on meeting night.
The meeting line says the third Wednesday at 6:30 PM, which is the rhythm the directory lists. Come for the business, stay for the people. The portraits and the posts here are sample material, standing in until the post writes its own — Yorktown Hts, NY.

Notes from the first meeting
