VFW Post 8573 Canyon Lake
VFW Post #8573 — Canyon Lake, TX. Service and a meeting hall — Canyon Lake.
- VFW Post #8573
- Canyon Lake, TX
In 1962 a handful of veterans chartered Post 8573 — Canyon Lake, TX. From that first meeting the post grew into a hall that still marks the year with a memorial service, a community project, and a table full of people who know one another’s stories.
The work is ordinary and steady. A flag detail at a funeral. A winter drive that fills a corner of the hall with gifts. A scholarship evening where the comrades hand an envelope to a student and then go back to the coffee. None of it is loud. All of it is the point of the charter.
The regular meeting is the first Thursday at 7:00 PM. Anyone planning to visit should confirm the night before they come, because a funeral detail or a weather delay can move it. Between meetings the comrades stay in touch the old way: at the hall, and through the officers listed on this sample site — Canyon Lake, TX.

What the notebook says so far
Late summer the post looked back at the notebook. The honor detail had been out more than once, the community table had fed a crowded room, and the officers reminded everyone that the next business meeting is the first Thursday at 7:00 PM. This note is a sample of how the post might tell that year — Canyon Lake, TX.
